Spinning Tynecastle Tynecastle and ICC could hardly be separated last season, with one win each and a score draw this one was always going to be a cracker. Wullie Driver and Robert Frew were forced out through work and injury while Chris Hughes came back to have an outstanding match as the formation was shuffled slightly.

ICC started the brighter forcing no less than three goal scoring chances in the early period as some of the Tynecastle passing was not the best. Devlin was called into action also and thankfully some bad finishing kept us in the game.

As the half wore on Tynecastle retained the bulk of possession and only excellent goalkeeping three times in a ten minute period saved ICC going behind after Cochrane and McGlinchey threatened the away goal. Cochrane in particular watching as the big ‘keeper kept out two great efforts and a defender having a hand in a goal line clearance. The sides went in level at the break.

HT: Tynecastle 0 ICC 0

As the second half kicked off it was Tynecastle who did the pressing early, good work involving Taylor and McCann presented McGlinchey with an excellent opportunity from inside the box but the striker could only watch as his first time effort flew wide.

McGlinchey was again involved in the opening goal five minutes later after some neat play on the left hand side, the striker looked up and picked out McCann with a fantastic 40 yard pass, McCann took two touches, the second one to slam high and home – great finish to put his side 1-0 up.

Minutes later Hughes did well retrieving the ball in the midfield before finding Paxton in space on the left, the wingers first time pass was inch perfect as McGlinchey took control at the back post before leaving the away keeper with no chance and double our lead. ICC equalised soon after a shot from the wide area foiled Devlin and ended up in the net. On 75 minutes Paxton and McGlinchey combined again to bag the third goal for Tynecastle, the striker capping a fine display with a brace.

Cochrane added a fourth ten minutes from time just as Tynecastle made a triple substitution.

FT: Tynecastle 4 ICC 1

Verdict: The first 20 minutes apart Tynecastle played well. A good win and a good three points, with some of the best goals seen so far this season at the club.
Tynecastle: Devlin, Muir, S.Cahill, McCarthy(Anderson), Watson, Hughes(Watt), McCann, Paxton, Taylor(Boyle), McGlinchey, Cochrane
