Tynecastle emerged with a hard earned three points with a 3-1 win over East Dunbartonshire on Saturday. A headed goal in each half from skipper McCarthy and a Cochrane strike was enough to see off the Premier new boys. After progressing the the fourth round of the Collville Park West of Scotland cup, Tynecastle looked all set to get back to Premier league business last Saturday with a trip to Blochairn – only to fall victim of the heavy rain, as the match was called off on Friday evening after a pitch inspection. Tynecastle have been given a bye in the first round of the West of Scotland cup this season. Our second round tie will mean an away match versus the winners of Ayrshire side Kilbride Villa and fellow SSMFL side South Lanarkshire United.
